Joy Rider Review

Joy Rider is a short independent film made in 1995 and directed by Jim Gillepsie. The story line is where an electrician finishes work and is driving home and is kidnapped by two men who put the man in the boot of his own car and drive off. In the boot of the car the man manages to turn one of the brake lights off to attract the attention of the police which it does. however when the police arrive they are murdered by the two kidnappers. then another police car comes and chases the kidnappers in the car. The hostage manages to turn off the front headlights and cause the car to crash. As the hostage gets out the boot he is grabbed by one of the kidnappers and has a knife put to his throat. the hostage manages to head-butt the kidnapper and knock him out. as the man leaves the scene he notices he is where he was at the beginning of the story and starts laughing at the ironicalness of it. However as this happens sparks fly out of the electric box and because earlier he was covered in petrol during the chase and as the screen goes black you hear the sound of flames erupting. This film has causality where one event causes a chain of events to happen and result in this particular ending.  the film is a look at someone's life who survives an extreme event but is killed by something that had nothing to do with the story. The story behind this film could be that no matter what happens to you anything can still kill you.
