This is my group's final video.

For our short film we had to make a company name and a logo. we chose the name "Dawn Productions".

Soundtrack

For our film we didn't have any dialogue in our film. we decided to put omusic over the top and would help the viewer focus more on what is happening in the film.
We chose the song "Play" by Flunk. This song was chose because we believed it would fit with the film and the audience would still focus on the film instead of the song. The song starts when the robot is introduced into the film. This makes it seem as the song is a soundtrack for the robot's life in the film.

Film Ending

Unlike the storyboard, we had to change the end for our film because we only had 30 seconds left, so we decided to make the robot fall off the top of the car park and find a ligter and set himself on fire. we decided this was the best outocme and stick to the meaning in the film and the title "Curiosity".

My Ancillary Task

This post shows the two ancillary tasks my group created to go with the short film we created. our groupo chose a magazine review and a magazine poster to accompany the film.

Teacher Targets

Make sure that you have evidence - of codes and conventions analysed for the film reviews and posters and then the creation of yours - final products analysed and linked back to the ones that you have analysed. Audience feedback of the final products.

Technical decisions and revisions post - with an editing update. - coulkd discuss the ending in particular and the processes you have gone through

Props

for Mise en Scene to stay the same we've kept several things the same:
Actors
Locations
Prop
Costumes

speicifc's we used are:
Tom (actor)
Robot (prop)
Bag (prop)
Car (prop)

as we do most of our filming in school time, these things are easy to kep the same. we are all responsible for bringing in certain things. I'm responsible for wearing the same clothes for filming and bringing in the robot prop. George is responsible for bringing in the bag prop. Matt is responsible for ensuring we have a camera to film with.

Filming Log

During the last couple of weeks my group has begun filming and editing our project. A problem we had was when we came to editing we could see the robot moving and it showed how the robot was moving. The problem was because the cameras are low budget they didn't give a wide enough view of the shot. This led to several re-films. Also, we decided that to make it clearer to the audience, before we go to a first person view of the robot, we would cut to a close up of the robot's face first, this would make it clearer for the audience and connect more with the robot. we still for one scene re-film with the close up's.
In editing, In one particular shot we found it difficult to put a blur on one shot going into another, it as now been resolved but it took a great amount of time sorting the problem out.

Filming

Our group has begun to film our short film "Curiosity". We have already found a few problems that we need to resolve. we need to redo the shots with the robot moving because the robot doesn't move correctly and we need to hide how the robot is moving because the angle of the shot gives it away. Also a shot where we had a sign in the background which we feel would divert the audiences attention to what is going on in the scene. Another shot because we forgot to move the tripod out of the shot. we've done several point of view shots to give the image your seeing from the robot eyes. With these problems in mind we checked in more detail at mise en scene, shot angles for the second scene. Our group made sure this time that when the robot moves you cant see how he is moving in the shot. Checked that no equipment was left or there was anything that would detract away from the scene.

Practice Shoot

Our group did a practice run of our short film. This was done to see how shots would look and find locations that could be used in the final piece. Several locations were used to and a variety of shots, particularly panning and mid-shots.
What was learned was that for some shots we would have to consider using point of view shots to keep the scene flowing. Include the character's view of what they are seeing and feel more involved with the character.

Film name

Our group has decided to give our film the title of "Curiosity". There is going to be a little slogan at the bottom of the poster saying "It always get the better of you".

Holiday Work

Over the holidays there are several things I have to do to prepare my pre-production to be ready to film after the holidays.
1) Storyboarding
2) Shot planning
Josh, Tom, Matt and George.
We are going to meet up in the holidays and discuss our ideas more and find possible shot locations.

Goodbye Mr Snuggles

This is the link to the short film "Goodbye Mr Snuggles".
This is where two elderly men go for a walk in the countryside and start painting. Meanwhile a clown is driving dangerously fast up the road and drinking and laughing in a drunken state and smoking  a cigar. The clown arrives at the field where the elderly men are and gets out the car and starts shooting at the men. However one of the men pulls out a gun and starts shooting at the clown and kills the clown it appears. The man then sits down and the film ends.

Prodution Name and Logo

Our group has decided to call our company Berry Productions and will have a picture of a students face in a circle smilar to the MGM production company. we chose becaue its recognisable and easy to pos onto our short film at the beginning.
